Who we are
Hi, we’re Gina and Eric — high school sweethearts, parents to five amazing kids, grandparents to one very loved grandchild, and the people behind A Backwoods Farm.
We live just outside Louisville, Nebraska, nestled in the country but only minutes from Omaha and Lincoln. This land, this barn, and this season of life have become the backdrop for something we never quite planned—but deeply love. A Backwoods Farm began after our kids were grown and had left the house. Like a lot of empty nesters, Gina found herself wondering, “Now what?” What started as a quiet return to creativity turned into pottery-making, then slowly grew into something much bigger. Making pottery led to sharing pottery. Sharing pottery turned into workshops. And before we knew it, the barn became a place where people gathered.
As A Backwoods Farm evolved, so did our vision. We realized what we loved most wasn’t just the pottery or the food—it was the experience. The slowing down. The lingering conversations. The way strangers became friends by the end of the evening. That’s what inspired us to add our long table dinners—small, curated evenings focused on connection, thoughtful details, and shared moments around the table.
At our core, we love creating experiences that feel intentional, warm, and a little unexpected. We’re always dreaming up what might come next—new gatherings, new ideas, and new ways to bring people together in meaningful ways.
A Backwoods Farm is still growing, still evolving, and still rooted in the same simple idea: creating space for creativity, connection, and moments worth remembering. We’re so glad you’re here.
